  • De interactieve toepassing: in het wiel van Eddy Merckx

The permanent exhibition displays UNIQUE COLLECTIBLES from our distant and recent sporting history, including a wool swimsuit from the 1920s, a high-tech bicycle that belonged to Merckx, certificates and trophies from the earliest Olympic champions, the spikes that Tia Hellebaut wore to jump for gold, the very first Olympic torch, and artworks in tribute to legendary sportsmen and women.

This exceptional collection led to Sportimonium being recognised by the IOC as one of 22 Olympic Museums in the world.

INTERACTIVE APPLICATIONS allow visitors to relive the moments of glory of legendary sports heroes and learn the stories behind the display pieces without the need for a guide.

  • A digital trail has been designed specially for cycling fans: IN THE WHEELS OF EDDY MERCKX.
  • Visitors who are passionate about OLYMPISM can learn all about our Olympic past with the digital application FROM ZEUS TO BRAZIL.
