Privacy Policy (Privacy statement)

Sportimonium is committed to safeguarding your privacy.

The privacy regulation that came into force on 25 May 2018, known as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), will therefore replace the previous regulations pertaining to the processing of personal information, which had been in effect since 8 December 1992. We will adhere closely to the GDPR.

Which personal data do we collect?

We collect and process the personal information that we receive from you, such as your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address and other data. By providing this information to Sportimonium, you also give your permission for Sportimonium to save and process it.

What do we do with your personal data?

When you provide your personal information to us, we save it in our files. We use your data for the following purposes only:

  • To communicate with you, for example in connection with your visit to Sportimonium;
  • To inform you about Sportimonium developments such as temporary exhibitions and major additions to our collections, to invite you to events, competitions and other activities we organize, and to provide additional details about these activities;
  • To carry out our marketing activities, for example by sending you a questionnaire;
  • To send you our newsletter.

With whom do we share your personal data?

We never share personal data such as your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address or other identification details in any form with any outside party, without your prior permission, unless we are legally required to share the information.

How long do we keep your personal data?

We process and store your personal information only as long as is necessary for the purpose for which we collect it, unless we are legally required to store data for a longer period.

Your right to view, amend and/or discard your data

You may view, amend or ask Sportimonium to discard your personal information at any time. To do so, please contact us in writing or by e-mail at:

If you contact us for this reason, please be as specific as you can so that we can process your request as correctly and completely as possible. Please note that we must be able to verify your identity in order to do this. A copy of your identity card is sufficient for this purpose.

Sportimonium will process requests as quickly as possible. If we cannot arrive at a solution together, you may submit a complaint. Please address your complaint to the Privacy Protection Authority, Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels, Belgium. This body was previously known as the Privacy Committee.

Changes to our privacy statement

Sportimonium may have reason to change or amend this privacy statement. If so, the changes will come into force immediately upon their publication. For this reason, we advise users to check our privacy statement at regular intervals. You can find our privacy statement on our website, www.sportimonium.be.
This privacy statement is applicable with effect from 25 May 2018.
