Monument
The beach-house dates back to 1938 and is designed by Maxime Wynants (1907-1999). There used to be several drinking- and eating places plus dressing rooms for up to two hundred people.
The beach-house Hofstade was classified as a protected monument in 2001. After the necessary restoration work by NV Ibens under the auspices of Atelier De Bondt it has been open to the public as the new location of Sportimonium since 07-05-2004.
